EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MICROPIGMENTATION TECHNIQUE
We want you to know as much as possible about micro pigmentation before you decide to perform any procedure. Below, we have separated some valuable information to clarify some recurring doubts for those who wish to follow the process.
FIRST THINGS FIRST
For the procedure to go perfectly, it is important that you do not have any of the contraindications below. If you have, You must inform us if any of the contraindications apply to you before your appointment. A doctor's authorization may be required for some health conditions.
If we have not previously been informed of any contraindications, you have not followed all before and after care, or will perform any activity that interferes with the healing process, your appointment will be canceled and your deposit will not be refunded.
BEFORE CARE
-
We suggest washing your hair before your appointment. You will not be able to get your eyebrows wet for at least 2 weeks.
-
DO NOT work out.
-
DO NOT consume alcohol or caffeine. Doing so will cause you to bleed which pushes the pigment out and results in less color retention.
-
DO NOT take Aspirin, IBUprofen, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, or any blood-thinning medication.
-
Do not wear contact lenses during or immediately following the eyeliner procedure. Remember to bring your glasses. You may resume wearing your contact lenses as soon as your eyes return to their pre-tattooed condition.
-
Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
-
You must stop taking antibiotics 3 weeks from your procedure.
AFTERCARE
-
DO NOT use other products or follow other artists’ aftercare instructions.
-
DO NOT splash or run water directly on your eyebrows while washing your face or in the shower for 2 weeks. If it gets wet, dry the area immediately! Avoid prolonging showers. It's better to wash your hair separately from the shower.
-
Let the flakes fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring, premature loss of pigment or hair, and even an infection.
-
DO NOT exercise or sweat for 2 weeks OR as long as you still have a scab. Working out slows down the healing process.
-
Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days and make sure you’re sleeping on a clean pillowcase.
-
DO NOT apply make-up to the tattooed area for the first 14 days OR until you still have scabs. Also if you still have scabs and apply makeup it can cause infection.
-
DO NOT receive eyebrow tinting, waxing for 2 weeks
-
NO facials, Botox, chemical treatments, and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
-
Please, apply all skin care products a finger away from the brows.
-
Avoid saunas, pools, and steam rooms.
ABOUT YOUR APPOINTMENT
Contraindications, before care, and aftercare apply to every single scheduled appointment, not just the original procedure.
Please note that we cannot guarantee how long your appointment will take as it depends on the amount of work your eyebrows will need. It’s important that you understand that satisfactory results of this procedure depend 50% on the artist, and 50% is up to your skin and how you care for your micro-pigmentation after you leave our studio.
Healing is completely done 28 days later and then it is necessary to add the pigment that was lost in the meanwhile. At your first touch-up appointment, your healed results will be evaluated and any desired and necessary changes will be made. It will take about 4-5 weeks for your eyebrows to fully heal after the initial procedure and touch-ups. UV Rays can alter the pigment. To prevent fading, once your eyebrows are healed use sunscreen directly on your brows with no less than SPF every time you are under the direct sun.
For eyebrow microblading, the healed results can be adjusted to lighter or darker. If after your initial procedure you are satisfied with the results and don’t feel you need a touch-up, it is important to still come in to prolong the results.
Please, plan your vacations according to your appointments.
ABOUT THE PROCEDURE
If it is your first time, when you arrive you will be filling out a microblading consent form.
We will apply a numbing cream for 30 minutes. So this way you are not going to feel any pain.
You will be guided to the specialist who will take down all of your preferences on having a perfect brow, lip, or eyeliner and take all the dimensions necessary.
The aftercare process will be explained in detail after your procedure. You may follow all the steps required.
